Privacy Policy

This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit the base524 website, for which purposes, on which legal grounds and how, in line with Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") and other applicable data protection laws.

Data controller

The data controller for your personal data is Fortgate Bilişim Yazılım Mühendislik Hırdavat E-ticaret İthalat İhracat Limited Şirketi ("the Company"), Macun Mah. Gimat Toptancılar Sitesi 189. Cad. No. 239, 06105 Yenimahalle/Ankara, Turkey. The base524 brand and the base524.com website are operated by the Company. For any question or request about this policy, write to kvkk@base524.com.

What we process and why

  • Connection and security records: IP address, browser and device information, the requested page and the time of the request. Processed automatically by the hosting infrastructure to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors.
  • Visit statistics: the page viewed, referring address, browser, operating system, device type and country. Used as aggregate statistics to improve the site. This measurement does not use cookies and is not designed to identify you personally.
  • Homepage drawings: the strokes, colours and submission time of a drawing you send. Submitted drawings first go into a review queue; only drawings approved by our team are shown publicly to every visitor on the homepage. No name, email address or IP address is stored with a drawing. Please do not write personal information (name, phone number, signature, etc.) into drawings.
  • Abuse prevention: when you submit a drawing, your IP address (for IPv6 addresses, the /64 network block it belongs to instead of the full address) is kept in a counter for about 20 minutes to prevent too many submissions in a short time.
  • Contact: the site has no forms. Clicking an email link opens your own email application; the information in an email you send us is processed to answer your request and conduct business discussions. The meeting scheduling link (Calendly) takes you to that service’s own website, where its privacy policy applies.
  • Media: videos, animations and some media files on project pages are loaded from the delivery network of our content management platform (Sanity) or from our video provider Mux; the program files of the animation players (Rive, LottieFiles) are served from this site’s own server, and some animations may load fonts or images from Rive’s delivery network. When this content loads, your browser necessarily sends your IP address and browser information to these providers. Mux viewer analytics are turned off.

Personal data is collected electronically, automatically while you use the site or when you send it to us.

Legal grounds

The data above is processed on the following grounds of Article 5(2) KVKK: our legitimate interest under paragraph (f) in delivering the site securely, preventing abuse and keeping visit statistics; for drawings, paragraph (d) (data made public by you), since you send a drawing of your own accord to be published, together with paragraph (f); for email correspondence, paragraph (c) where it relates to entering into or performing a contract, and paragraph (f) otherwise.

Service providers and transfers

Your data is not sold or shared for advertising. The site relies on the following service providers, which process data only to provide their service:

  • Vercel (hosting and visit statistics)
  • Sanity (storage of content and drawings, media delivery)
  • Upstash (drawing submission limit counter)
  • Mux (video streaming)
  • Rive (assets of some animations, where used)
  • Our email service provider (correspondence)

The servers of these providers may be located outside Turkey. Your data may therefore be transferred abroad within the scope of Article 9 KVKK.

Retention

  • IP address in the submission limit counter: about 20 minutes. If the counter service cannot be reached, the same value is held temporarily in a counter in server memory, which is cleared at the latest when the server instance shuts down. IP addresses are not written to our error logs.
  • Drawings: drawings that are not approved are deleted. Drawings still awaiting review after 30 days are deleted automatically (by a daily maintenance job and when new drawings are submitted). Approved drawings are kept until they are removed; the homepage shows the 64 most recent. You can write to us to have a drawing removed.
  • Connection and security records: for the hosting provider’s log retention period.
  • Visit statistics: as aggregate figures only.
  • Email correspondence: for as long as your request and the applicable legal retention periods require.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not use cookies and does not write data to your browser’s storage (such as localStorage). There is no advertising or marketing tracking, which is why the site does not ask for cookie consent. If this changes, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested where required.

Other websites you visit through links on this site (such as social media or Calendly) may use their own cookies; these are governed by those websites’ policies.

Your rights

Under Article 11 KVKK you have the right to apply to the data controller to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed,
  • request information if it has been processed,
  • learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose,
  • know the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom the data is transferred,
  • request correction if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • request erasure or destruction of the data under the conditions of Article 7 KVKK,
  • request that corrections, erasures and destructions be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred,
  • object to a result against you arising from analysis of the data exclusively by automated systems,
  • claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

How to apply

You can send your requests in writing to the Company’s address (Macun Mah. Gimat Toptancılar Sitesi 189. Cad. No. 239, 06105 Yenimahalle/Ankara, Turkey) or by email to kvkk@base524.com. Your request will be concluded free of charge within thirty days at the latest, depending on its nature.

Changes

This policy is updated when the way the site processes data changes. The current version is always published on this page; the date at the top shows the latest update.
